Pre-Performance Workshops

Get the most out of your live theatrical experience at First Stage with our Setting the Stage Workshops!

Setting the Stage Workshops are 45-minute pre-show sessions led by professional First Stage Teaching Artists that engage students and teachers in discussions of production elements, as well as lead theater exercises thematically related to the play.

For only $30 (for up to 30 students), Setting the Stage Workshops provide an opportunity for your students to gain an understanding and awareness of the play’s subject, while developing a strong, personal connection to the themes explored throughout the play. Setting the Stage Workshops – as well as our Enrichment Guides – will give your students a well-rounded experience at First Stage!

For more information or to reserve a workshop for your class, please contact our Academy/Education Coordinator at (414) 267-2970 or workshops@firststage.org.

What teachers have said about Setting the Stage Workshops:

"The workshop was very well prepared and fun for the class. The students were all very engaged--and laughing and smiling, and everyone wanted to volunteer. It was great to the see the students reading from the script and acting out mini-scenes."

"The workshops are always so engaging, and they really get the kids thinking. The addition of the workshop experience makes our trip to the theater really great!"
